Asmus Trautsch (Germany), dramaturg
Asmus Trautsch, born 1976 in Kiel, studied composition and music theory, philosophy and German literature in London and Berlin, where he gained his PhD at Humboldt University. Besides his work as a composer he chaired the composer’s network Klangnetz until 2014 and organised numerous international and intermedia projects of contemporary music. His compositions were performed at festivals such as the music festival Schleswig Holstein, Israel Festival and Wien Modern. He won several awards and fellowships, e.g. at Akademie Schloss Solitude, Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes, the Berlin Senat and Goethe Institut. He has published poetry, essays and philosophical writing, holds composition workshops, works as a musical dramaturg and teaches Philosophie at the Technical University Dresden.
